Frieren is a 5-star Earth Mage collab unit who opens fast and snowballs with Soul. Her basic attack hits one target, grants herself immunity for a turn, and then chains into Vollzanbel, an extra flame attack on all enemies that hits harder the more Health the enemies have lost. Her passive front-loads 40% Soul at the start of battle, gives allies Combat Readiness when she is attacked, and grants her a Defensive Magic barrier once her Soul reaches 4. Her cooldown skill self-buffs Attack for 3 turns, then strikes all enemies with lightning that strips every buff and ignores 50% of their Defense.

  • Buff-stacking and shielded teams — Her lightning skill hits every enemy and dispels all of their buffs, peeling away attack stacks, barriers, damage reduction, and invincibility before it lands her damage.
  • Tanky low-Defense-reliant bruisers — That same lightning ignores 50% of the target's Defense, and her flame attack scales up against enemies that have already lost Health, so durable frontliners get punished as the fight wears on.

  • Enemy dispels — Because her safety comes from self-granted immunity and a barrier rather than raw bulk, an opponent who dispels those off her leaves her exposed as a squishy Mage.
  • Burst before her Soul builds — Defensive Magic only appears once her Soul reaches 4, so early in a fight she has thin Defense and HP and can be deleted before her shield ever comes online.
  • Long lightning cooldown — Her buff-stripping, Defense-piercing lightning sits on a 4-turn cooldown, so teams that re-apply their buffs or shields can simply rebuild them in the windows when it is unavailable.
